Simple Explanations of Math Terms: Factors and Multiples

The FACTOR of a number is equivalent or smaller.

Example: The Factors of 12 are 1,2,3,4,6,12

12 is equivalent while 6,4,3,2, and 1 are smaller

The MULTIPLE of a number is equivalent or larger.

Example: The Multiples of 3 are 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30

3 is equivalent while 6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27 and 30 are all larger
